Founded in Singapore in 2019, Our client’s company specializes in sovereign cloud solutions with a particular focus on sensitive industries such as government and finance. They provide a wide range of public and private cloud services, shared hosting, and dedicated server solutions to businesses across various sectors.
Responsibilities:
The System and Network Technical Manager is responsible for the planning, engineering and implementation of datacenter and cloud infrastructure for their subsidiary in Laos. The position covers leading the team in charge of operating the data center and cloud infrastructure and establishing procedures to ensure the availability and stability of the infrastructure. You are also responsible for the documentation and performance monitoring of all systems.
- Management of the cloud infrastructure team in Laos
- Lead the design and implementation of new cloud clusters, both VMware and open source, in accordance with industry best practices
- Oversee support and maintenance of data center and cloud infrastructure
- Ensure adequate availability of cloud resources: compute , memory, storage. Regularly perform capacity planning exercises and coordinate with the procurement team for upgrades
- Establish and monitor cloud infrastructure metrics for performance issues and resolve issues as they arise.
- Create and maintain all server/cloud infrastructure documentation, including log management, inventory, procedures documentation, and a disaster recovery plan.
- Ensure that knowledge is shared between all teams and carry out regular training / knowledge transfer
- Oversee the updating/upgrading of systems and applications.
- Define and implement security policies in accordance with industry best practices
- Develop, maintain and execute comprehensive project plans related to new client projects such as client cloud migration, disaster recovery project, etc.
- Interact and develop relationships with vendors and other third party contractors to manage projects and secure network and system products and services.
- Design customer cloud environments
- Provide leadership in infrastructure migration methodologies and techniques, including massive application moves to the cloud.
- This position reports to the Chief Technical Officer.
Requirements
- Qualifications: Graduate of higher education, Bac+5, in the field of information technology or networks/telecoms
- 3 to 5 years of experience as a network/system engineer in a production environment
- Experience in the administration of IP networks desired
- Working knowledge of VMware virtualization suite including VSAN and NSX preferred
- Working knowledge of Linux administration and container orchestration (Kubernetes) desired
- Ability to resolve a wide range of network and server related issues, sometimes under pressure.
- Strong sensitivity to cybersecurity issues
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Cisco CCNA or CCNP certification would be a plus
- Strong adaptability
- Very good level of English required
