Job Description

GENERAL MISSION STANDARD GENERAL SCOPE:

The Sales Manager will support the General Manager with sales activities in the Lao market. Responsibilities include corporate, group and leisure business, for all lines of revenues including Famp;B. Daily activities include hunting for business, sales administration, contracting, reporting, proposals, project management and client liaison for La Residence Phou Vao. The role will focus on generating and coordinating group, corporate, rooms and event sales as related to both accommodation and Famp;B events and functions.

Language Requirements:

• Lao (written and spoken) • English (written and spoken - essential) • Additional languages, a plus.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Assist in drawing up the marketing plan annually with the Divisional Director of Sales, Asia.

• Keeps a record on former, existing, potential clients and a profile of each of them in OSC.

• Organizes regular visits in accordance to a predetermined plan.

• Prepares a tentative monthly schedule to record all sales and other related actives for the preceding month.

• Presents a summary of his/her visits to the Director of Sales, Asia/ General Manager on a weekly basis (Weekly Sales Plan) prior to and after the week is completed.

• Ensures that the invoicing effectively corresponds to all services agreed upon and rendered.

• Ensures that all new clients have no negative credit references.

• Records all daily sales calls using OSC.

• Records the statistics of his/her accounts using TRAC

• Submits production reports on his/her list of accounts on a monthly basis.

• Keeps himself/herself well informed about the operations especially in key departments (Front Office, Famp;B, and Banqueting etc.)

• Applies, in conjunction with the Divisional Revenue Director, Asia current rates as charged by the hotel.

• Closely observes matters pertaining to competition (sites, prices, services offered on a regular basis quarterly or more often if need to be).

• Promotes the hotel as often as possible through entertaining, site inspections, and presentation etc., of the hotel.

• Pays visits to former, existing and potential clients in view of entering into contracts with them, especially commercial accounts.

• Defines precisely guest requirements and ensures that the guest services offered corresponds effectively to their requests.

• Provides after-sales service and in particular to ensure all guests complaints are taken seriously and discussed with the respective departments if necessary.

• Receives in the hotel any important guests whom he has approached.

• Negotiates prices with the clients.

• Confirms verbal proposals in writing.

• Pro-actively and creatively seek ways to generate revenue for accommodations, groups and Famp;B and events and media.

• Manage the team with full day-to day administrative, including telephone support, compiling PowerPoint presentations etc.

• Create and manage a database of previous and potential clients and corporate lists.

• Oversees and manages all events for the hotel across teams when tasked by the General Manager.

• Assisting to help develop sales collateral (brochures, kits, presentations, proposals, newsletters, promotions, etc.)

• Support GM with general administration for client follow up (individual and group requests) including scheduling appointments, supporting the contracting and proposal process, client correspondence and distributing collateral/business information.

  • Carry out sales calls and introductions, prospect new clients and sales leads. Attend meetings, FAMs, meals or dinners for visiting agents, media or groups.

• Seek ways and implement ways to advertise and promote the hotel and events in local media and social media, in coordination with the regional marketing team.

• Prepare and arrange sales quotes and proposals for corporate and groups for accommodation and Famp;B events, close and confirm bookings. Handle correspondence to answer requests, information, questions, etc.

• Arrange and conduct show rounds of the hotel and facilities to potential clients.

• Attend consumer events and conduct site inspection trips while representing the company

• Conduct research projects and prepare reports as requested.

• Assist General Manager with social media when needed and help to promote the hotel and events with the local community via social media, media outreach or sales calls

• Keep the department and other relevant departments updated and informed of Famp;B and sales related activities.

• Send Famp;B event forecast to Reservations Department and General Manager and cost out events
